"The Other Woman" by Rose Rancourt got my attention from the start. 'I'm hard for her.' he grunted. Eric is hard, his wife willing, but they still want to spice up their sex life.
First they use magazines and videos, then they invite Sarah to share their bed. Well, Eric's bed. Because his wife is left on the sideline to tell us about his and Sarah's fun.
Despite the first person point of view, Rose Rancourt managed to avoid the usual trap of boring description. Her piece is somehow bitter-sweet, and beautifully written. I nearly feel sorry for the wife, who claims she is not jealous and even grateful for her husband's pleasure. Maybe a ménage scene would have complete it, but this short story lacks not from its absence.
An author to discover, definitely.
